A Tribute to the Women of Rett Syndrome

Jessica

Jessica is 21 years of age with RTT/clinical dx by Dr Percy.

There is a scripture that makes me think of my sweet Jessie:
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” Galatians 5:22 – 23

The love she gives creates a joy in all of our hearts!
The joy she shares creates a peace over our soul!
The peace she has creates a spirit of kindness that is shared!
The kindness that is given is nothing but goodness in action!
The goodness that comes from her encourages our faithfulness to our God!
The faithfulness that she has, sparks a gentle spirit to flow from her soul!
The gentleness that we witness helps us have self-control over the little things in life.

While I am sure Jessica is not totally perfect, she is the perfect teacher if we all would listen. Many times she tries to tell us her deepest thoughts and we miss it completely. She practices more forgiveness than a person should. Can you imagine….your communication is completely stopped for 21 years? Think of all the conversations, books, news reports, game show questions and answers, history channel and all the other auditory input that you would hear and can not respond to! If we all listened for 21 years, imagine the wisdom that we would have. One day, sweet Jessie will share her wealth of knowledge and wisdom. We believe that the cure for RTT is close at hand. Jessica needs it now. Her body is exhausted and yet she smiles.

Before Jessica, I never knew such love as this. I am blessed beyond measure. I am her mom and student.
