A Tribute to Stacie Hunter

While Stacie is chronologically 34, and her mental age is somewhat less, she is truly ageless.

She is a beloved old spirit, full of life experience and the wisdom she has gained from watching others, mostly in silence.

Her silence does not mean she does not understand. It means she cannot speak.

Her silence does not mean she has nothing to say. She speaks volumes with her eyes.

She has overcome the greatest adversities with the utmost grace and endured the ills that would drive others to distraction.

She has a smile that lights the sun, and a laugh that charms even the grumpiest of scoundrels.

Most would see her as powerless, yet she has so much power. She has made strong men cry and weak men strong.

She has shown others how to appreciate what they have.

She has shown others the beauty of simplicity and innocence.

She has taught others patience, and not to be judgmental or greedy.

She has shown others that when God measures a person, he measures the heart, not the head.

When she leaves this earth, she will occupy a special place in heaven, for she has done much good work. The world is a better place for having her in.

And we are so very blessed to have her in our lives.
My Stacie, My Love, My Inspiration
By Kathy Hunter - 5-31-08

She is the kite
And I but the tail

She is the ship
And I but the sail

She is the wine
And I but the glass

She is the compass
The future, the past

She is the message
And I but the voice

She is an angel
God’s perfect choice

She is the soul
And I but the mass

She was the first
But won’t be the last

She is the teacher
And I but the learner

She is the voice
And I but the murmur

She is the thinker
And I but the scribe

She is the drummer
And I but the vibe

She is the vision
And I but the dream

She is the heart
And I but the scheme

She is the fire
And I but the flame

She is the power
And I but the name
For Stacie with Love

May God go with this special little girl
And protect those who look after her,
For her world is one of confusion
Where up is down and down is up
And every day is filled with obstacles.

May those who look upon this little girl
See beyond their expectations of
What should and what should not be,
And may they be more gentle in their ways
For having known her.

May each person discover the spark in
Her searching eyes and experience the joy
Of each little step forward
For she is a very special little girl
And the sun shines when she is happy.
